The coffee plantation gained immense popularity and was grown in several parts of the American region, including the Caribbean, Mexico, South, and Central America. De Clieu’s seedling is believed to be the great-grandfather of almost 90% of the coffee being grown today.
Later, because of some negative associations with the “Boston Tea Party,” many people switched to coffee as an alternative to tea. Americans were quick in adopting coffee as part of their meals, including breakfast.
Coffee soon gained popularity in other parts of the world as well, including India and Indonesia, where it gained fame as a staple drink.
